Secondary Carbon Steel Plate
Secondary plate is hot-rolled mild carbon steel that did not ship as prime — usually because of a surface condition, a dimensional variance, or a cancelled order rather than anything structural. The steel itself is sound. For a great many applications that is all that matters, and the cost difference against prime plate is substantial.
We stock a range of thicknesses, widths, and lengths, and can supply full-size sheets or burn plate to your drawing. Material chemistries are available on request, and independent testing or Brinell hardness verification can be arranged when a project calls for it.
